Haven't tried this in the XLS format and the MSK's Help|Index|Quatro 1-2-3:file layout: page
doesn't mention this option to be present, but in the ASCII format you can add the <NAME>
column to the ASCII header. Convert wil than automayticaly give your secs their corresponding names.
This option is available since the DL 6.5, and since that that version did not get a new manual,
eg the old 6.0 manual had to be used, than this wasn't explained and exampled in your manual.
See the build-in 6.52 Downloader Help:
-click Help|Index
-type ASCII:file layout:
-Help will auto select the issue
-click Display
-Help will display the "Conversion Options Dialog" page
-scroll down to bottom of page

This is personal. If you have a fast machine you can opt for it. If not, and if your maintained
(unspiked) historical data is also precious to you, than don't.
Any errors in newly downloaded files, eg from bad connections or halve downloaded files
and from other datavendor 'bugs' will automatically be reflected in your newly created securities.
