Stock entry: try a random entry. Most systems are not much better than
that.

Stock selection: Use comparative relative strength within industry group.

Ton Maas,

Thanks for your response about what the pay-off is in bringing in VB to the
MetaStock program.

I find a dilemma with the following:

"What do you think of less time spend on software and inabilities of the
standard MetaStock program and more free time for other things (coffee,
trading,
testing, etc.) and making program user definable?"

and

"I have as yet to learn enough of the VB language so as to establish the
above.
Thus, for the moment, have to rely on my current configuration settings and
live
with its limitations."

It seems that there is such a huge learning curve, and complications in
setting up this external VB that it's not of much value to the basic
MetaStock user.

I'm arriving at the tentative conclusion that it would be a far better use
of one's time and energy to learn how to interpret a set of indicators
directly obtainable through MetaStock, learn how to develop these into some
system of stock selection and entry, and perhaps exit, and then to just keep
hounding Equis to get some added functionality into the next release,
version 7.5.

What percentage of all people who post to this MetaStock thread have arrived
at 'tried and true' systems for stock selection and entry? I'd bet less
than 10%. It seems that is where things really begin.

Thanks again,
Nicholas
