Hello Again Bryan,

>No disrespect intended here but shouldn't bunkai be figured out for
ones
self?>

You have just spoken HEREASAY, and will be burned at the <coughing
sound> "traditional" stake : D !!! Heavens, what will that do for
~group symmetry~ cohesion, if everyone is investigating different
aspects, facets if you will of an application?!!

<I have found through my training that the bunkai that works for one
person (other than the basic universal bunkai) my not work for another.>

Respectfully disagree. By that meaning if, IF the principles in the
application are adheared to then the movements will work. The problem
however is that many never hone those gems (applications)themselves, if
they are not the ~spoon fed~ applications (sic. the universal), they
are not "acceptable" in some dojo.

But it is NOT reasonable/logical (IMO-fwiw) for an application which
works for the 6' 3" 275 pound person (because of their mass), to
automatically work for the 5' 100 pound classmate. Many applications
which lots of us have observed do not work specifically for that
reason... the person who taught the "initial application" made it work
ONLY because of their size, and mass. If the explaination of the
movements work regardless of size/weight then, as I see it, it is
finally "correct", a good application.

Thoughts???
Jeff
