Hi Kornberg,
Should you be interested in getting free end of day quotes for Metastock
from yahoo, I would
strongly advise you going to http://www.xmlworks.com and downloading the
Quotemonster program. It is less than about 50Kb.
There is also a link to download the perl binary which you will also
need. Once downloaded all you will have to do is execute the script e.g
c:\nyse\perl qm 900102 990831 to update all the securities in the
tickers.txt file from the 1st of January 1990 to present date.
These csv files will then be correctly imported into metastock format
with the downloader. It works great.Should you not be able to get it
working, I would gladly send you my script bat files and some crontabs.
The only downside to this is yahoo does not include volume on the Dow
Industrials and transportations. Anyway one cannot complain for free
stuff.
Regards
Shawn Andrew
