1. Check the option to "Create New Files" (see GIF-file below)
Note here that the columns are grey-ed out (not active) and that all boxes do contain
the "v"-check, for as in the previous session here these settings were required (eg
     in my previous instance-situation).
To un-check any of these boxes, go back to the main "Convert"-window and temporarily
change the Destination-Type from MetaStock to "Excel or any other Type".
Then return to the Destination-TAB and un-check any of the columns that you do not need,
and once again return to the main Convert-windows to change the File Type to be MetaStock.
Now for a test, convert to a blanc newly created folder(or let the program create it for you).
Should this go well, then try converting to the by you required folder.(if not succesfull clear
the folder of all files and sub-folders). Try again. Should this go well, then Merge (Tools|Merge)
the Price Data from the "faulty-and-just-before-cleared-securities" with the
"just-then-created" freshly new securities, which for the DL-program are also the "correct"
     accessable securities+folder(s).

2. Also, if your not planning to upgrade to MetaStock v6.52 than, at least first download
and install the latest 6.52 version of the Downloader only, eg its free and millenium proof.

Equis International - Get The DownLoader for Reuters DataLink, FREE
     http://www.equis.com/free/downloader-rtd/index.html
     Note:
Do not exceed the older MS/DL-programs' folder-limit of "a maximum of 255 securities/folder".
The new version (above) can handle +2000 secs (a max of 1000 secs is recommended per folder).

3. Then, in the DLv6x-manual (p.70-71-72) and in the DL's build-in Help (go to the Index-tab
and search for "Convert Securities Dialog"|"ASCII Source File Layout") tells you that
     <DATE> for a proper ASCII-header for the date-column works when converting ASCII-files,
however this information is bugged (plain wrong/mix up, see the Excel-part below).
(Know this from some 50+ installations of many different Downloader versions and these
also being installed on many different platfoms).
     Converting "Excel" files:
The <DATE> for header does work "when converting Excel-files", eg the spreadsheet-example
given on p.73 (DL-man) is therefore correct, but is correct for XLS-spreadsheets/workbooks only.

4. Check if your working-folder (eg the folder to which you are converting to) or the folders "below" it
do not contain any of these 4 files below, eg the 4 temp files that the program(s) create and
sometimes forget to clean up when you've had a program crash or had the session end abrubtly
(in a non-casual manner). If they do excists in any of your folders, delete them immediatly (=nusance).
             ~msfl.inx
             ~msfl.lck
             ~msfl.sec
             ~msfl.usr
The MetaStock and the Downloader programs create these temp-files on each session's start-up,
eg so as to block any other (3td party) programs from entering on your MetaStock Data Files
      (the Master,Emaster,Dat,Dop,Mwd files).
On Opening the program, usualy you will get a dialog-window (error message) in which
you can opt to "continue" accessing the folder. Click to "Continue", this will then automatically delete
these 4 files (or some of the 4).
