I consider pure RAM drive with no background write to hard disk is very
dangerous. Be aware that if you forget to copy data from your ram drive to
your hard disk before normally shutting down your computer, data is lost
forever.

SuperRAM NT from www.eecsys.com running with NT4, this can make a RAM drive
either running fully in RAM or RAM Disk with background writes to hard disk.

If you don't have a lot of securities to scan, it won't be long anyway to
complete the exploration whether they are located in RAM or on hard drives.

But you need a lot of RAM to do explorations then, all your security data
must fit into the RAM Drive, you might need something between 512 Mb and 1
Gb RAM dedicated to your RAM DRIVE.

Consider also Supercache NT from eecsys.com, it is very effective and you
don't need such an amount of RAM. I made posts in the past regarding this.
Send me a direct email if you need additional info.

Mario,

"Now, when it comes to the fastest database searches someone may consider to
copy the database in a Virtual RAM Disk... "

Could you, or anyone, suggest a particular RAM disk to try out, or say how
to set one up?

Thanks,
Nicholas
