When you have your Layout Open (eg in this your "template as layout" your 4x Charts
will be displayed) than only one(1) Chart will be always the "Active" Chart.
You can check this (as is with any Active window in Windows) by going to the top
of the window(Chart).
In general (when the options for the window's Display graphics are also set to the
Windows 95-defaults):
The active window(Chart) will be Blue and any non-active window(Chart) will be Grey.

Too, you can always save any Layout's Chart singly, eg by first making it the Active Chart
(click anywhere on/in the Chart), then on the WorkMenu click File|Save As and finaly,
click to choose Smart Chart for Type (save to any name/folder of your likings).
