To All:

Thanks to some Equis and Ton Maas support, I was able to recover from the
original, failed conversion from MS45DOS to MSWin and reinstall my
indicators.

My system is now running under Windows and 30 times faster than following
the original conversion. Still not quite as fast as running under DOS, but
it does work and I can get everything I need in a couple of windows. Now to
look at the additional features in MS for Windows and see if I can replace
TAS.

In case anybody is interested, here is what I did:

1- Edit all 130 indicators in MS for DOS, adding the indicator number to the
front of the name, so that each indicator is completely unique. This,
according to Ton, will fix the confusion created in my first installation
attempt. Note: These 130 indicators are not all active indicators, but
tests of new theories, etc. I currently have 31 active indicators,
intermediate calculations, binary waves, etc., in MS with 6 additional ones
running in TAS.
2- Copy MS45FORM.DTA to the MSWIN folder and rename it MS65FORM.DTA. This
effectively replaced my original, converted DOS data with the current
MS45FORM.DTA file that I was using.
3- Double click on MS for Win and answer YES to the question as to whether
or not I wanted the formula data converted to the new format.

Following that process, I ran a test using my SPCONT database and compared
it to the results from MS4.5. The last week agreed completely, so I assumed
that everything was working. I will run parallel systems for a while to
make sure that everything stays that way.

I guess I have no excuse to check out the variable capabilities I understand
have been added to MS for Windows. If this works, I'll be able to run my
complete system in MetaStock for the first time as opposed to using
MetaStock for DOS and TAS.

Regards

Guy
