Walter,
I have attached a file named "Eicar.zip"......just unzip to a folder, then
rename the file
Eicar.txt to Eicar.com. After you rename it, then scan the directory to test
the
scanner......then try to open the file, to test the "real-time" protection.
NOTE: this is NOT a real virus, it is simply the standard ASCII test file
that many
AV programs give instructions on how to create and test.
