I would like to use exported data, but then I'd have to export 1,000's
of symbols each day. Also, I'd have to keep track of symbol changes,
etc... While there may be an advantage to using QP Scans, MetaStock
is MUCH better than QPChart.

as a follow-up to Daniel's post about QP, I am running the following system
with no hangups or freezing: Abit
LX6 motherboardPentiumII-233Win95Metastock6.5
(not "the patch")Diamond
FirePro 8meg AGP Download
with cable modem takes ~20 seconds, to update my ~2500 files takes ~2 minutes.
I use the exported Metastock format, and not the virtual QP format. My
scans are MUCH MUCH faster in the QP scan program than they are in the
Metastock Exploration, and I like the fact that the QP scan can create
a directory which then puts the results in that directory. I merely change
the dayname of the directory each day, and I can easily go back to the
results which came out on the scan of, for example, last Wed. Great feature! The
one question which remains.......will QP be able to work with Metastock
come 1/1/00? Equis is being very tight-lipped about their secret formula......or......should
I say Reuters?Debra
