  <p>Bridge is a real-time financial information service that you can access through the
  Business School network (HOH, BRI or ACC). You can get up-to-the-minute and historical
  information about U.S. stocks and markets. Bridge keeps daily data for six months, weekly
  data for two years, and monthly data for ten years. This user guide will walk you through
  the more common, and simpler, Bridge resources.</p>
  <font SIZE="5"><b><p>Company information<ol>
    </b></font>
    <li>Go to the &quot;Start Menu,&quot; select &quot;Programs,&quot; select
      &quot;Finance&quot; and then &quot;BridgeStation&quot; (ask a staff member to log you in).</li>
    <li>Under &quot;Workspace&quot; select &quot;New&quot; or &quot;Add Display&quot;</li>
    <li>Select &quot;Security Strip&quot;</li>
    <li>Enter the company ticker symbol (If you don't know your ticker symbol, use the lookup
      feature &#150; &quot;File,&quot; &quot;Add Workspace,&quot; and select

  <p>This display gives you the current stock price. To get more information, double-click
  on the TICKER symbol in the Security Strip display. A menu will pop up with a variety of
  choices.</p>

  <p>Step one: setup<ol>
    </b></font>
    <li>Open Excel</li>
    <li>Open &quot;Tools&quot; menu, and choose &quot;Add-ins&quot;</li>
    <li>Click on &quot;Browse&quot; and follow this path:
      c:\windows\apps\bridge\bws32\etc\btools. </li>
    <li>Double click on btools. </li>
    <li>Back at the &quot;Add-ins&quot; window, click on &quot;OK.&quot;</li>
    <li>A Bridge Tools option will appear in the Excel menu. In order to display information
      from Bridge on Excel, the Bridge Dynamic Data Exchange (BDDE) file must be open.</li>
    <li>To access the Bridge Dynamic Data Exchange (BDDE), use the &quot;Find Files&quot;
      function (under the Windows Menu bar) to find the bdde.exe file. Double click on bdde.exe.
      You will be asked for the Bridge password (ask a staff member for asssistance). Close the
      &quot;Find Files&quot; window.</li>
  </ol>
  <font SIZE="4"><b><p>Step two: get data<ol>
    </b></font>
    <li>In Excel, choose the cell on the spreadsheet where you want your data to start. </li>
    <li>From the &quot;Bridge Tools&quot; menu, choose &quot;History.&quot; This is where you
      specify the data you want. </li>
    <li>Fill in the ticker symbol, the time units (days, weeks, months, etc.), how many units
      you want, and the type of information you want. The options on the list work like a toggle
      switch. (Click on LS, and Last Sale is added to your list. Click on LS again, and it is
      removed.) </li>
    <li>Click on &quot;Copy Link,&quot; then click on &quot;Exit.&quot; </li>
    <li>From &quot;Bridge Tools&quot; again, choose &quot;Paste Link.&quot; This will start your
      tabular data at the cell you chose in step one.</li>
    <li>From here, you can manipulate the data, print, and save as an Excel file. </li>
    <li>You can also open a real-time ticker. Again, choose a starting cell on the spreadsheet.
      From Bridge Tools, choose Ticker. Enter your ticker symbol and any other parameters. Click
      OK. Your ticker table will begin from the cell you chose. </li>
