offense taken. I always welcome comments. As I have said on this
forum many times, I do use the CandleVolume charts but make my decisions on
trend channel and high/low analysis. I've tried various Candlestick
formations, but have never found any that have been consistently profitable for
me. However, I have made money with trend channels. On DELL I was
fishing for a turn up when it broke out of its short term down trend channel on
3/4/99. I protected myself with a stop just under the 2/17/99 low and
that's the one that took me out. However, since the bottom of a much
longer term up trend channel is only a few points away, I kept my LEAP option
position with a stop just under the bottom of that channel. Time will tell
on that one, but today did look good.</FONT></DIV>

I do not own any pattern recognition software but apart from using
MetaStock I also use TradeStation which does a fairly good job of
recignizing patterns such as the "cup and handle formation"--though this
requires special coding and TradeStation software. However, at least for
this pattern the code is available from the website of Omegaresearch:
www.omegaresearch.com
I have also seen the ad of Kasanjian's "Pattern Smasher" but yet to
check that.
Thanks
