Oh ... is this easy or what!
Steps:
Save ".igy" file from Dale's email into C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Queries
Open a workbook in Excel 97
Click any cell, i.e., B3 {this is where I want the data placed for
starters}
Click ... Data --> Get External Data --> Run Web Query
The "Run Query" dialogue box appears
Click on "test.igy" ... {I called it "test#2.igy" because as Dale explained
it needed a date}
Click "Get Data" Button
Dialog box "Returning External Data to Microsoft Excel" appears asking you
where you want the data put. Since I already clicked B3 ... $B$3 appears in
box
Click "OK" button
"Enter Parameter Value" dialogue Box appears {I don't know what this means}
I entered date "990312"
The Excel screen immediately appeared with the little notice "Getting Data"
In seconds the data appeared ... lots of it
Little tool bar "External Data" is floating in the middle of the screen.
Wow ... kiss my download fees goodbye.
Try it ... you'll love it.
Best regards
Walter
