Downloader and Excel

Can anyone offer any thoughts or ideas toward patching the Downloader(using
EOD from Reuter's) to Excel,so as to maintain EOD info on a database of
stocks?
       
Since the Metastock program language is somewhat limited, I would like to
utilize visual basic from Excel to test trading system ideas. Using the
convert function of the Downloader and then the copy/paste routine to Excel
is abit too cumbersome for any sizable database.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
