Honoustly, wait for 7.0 to come out, as the "extra's" are not 'screemingly'
required or needed at the moment.
Also when upgrading from 6.5 to 7.0, this will from-now-till-then(Oct99 ?)
give you plenty of time to make one(1) proper spare "copy(backup)" of all
of your valuables assets in the 65 program(program settings, indicators,
experts, systests, explorer scans & all other formulas/charts/layouts/templates)
and now also in text files(formulas etc) and not to forget also your currently used
but very valuable MS folder files(the DATs etc.).
The fact that MS+subs are so slow 'under Windows' is that the program(s) write
to disk far more then is required.
And if this is indeed done per ticker/functions(+variables) then this explains,
in Windows, why the MS programs are in a bath-tub-race while other 'normal'
programs are speed-boat-racing.
Thus this is not due to Windows or your "power(hardware)", but to the in the
programs programmed commands' consequences, like the superflously writing
to disk, eg the way the MS program(s) were factory build and were code written
to perform.
Wish you all the best and luck transfering your MS/Dos formulas into MS/Windows
formulas and to give you some mental support on this, think basicaly that formulas
that worked in Dos OUGHT to work in Windows as well. (In this the OS's did not
change as Dos is Windows underlay).
(But in this, I am also not familiar to MS versions prior to 6.0).
Changing subjects, one of my systems for the intermediate term went negative
on Jan 21th. (This is on our AEX index though). Its short-term equivelant
went negative on Jan 7th and still is. Also the DowUTILS went 'for sale' early last week.
Calculating this for the DJ EURO STOXX 50, DAX, DowINDU, DowTRANS, S&P500
then results remain still positive for the intermediate term.(Haven't got around to make
one for the short term for this group as yet).

Ton Maas
