Below are the results of our weekly "Guess the Dow" sentiment survey.
The survey was taken from 12/21 through 1/3 on the Lowrisk.com web
site.
Number of participants: 428
30 day outlook:
61% bullish, 55% last week
21% bearish, 21% last week
18% neutral, 24% last week
(percentages may not sum to 100 due to rounding)
Median guess for the DJIA closing value on Friday, 1/8: 9363 (it
was 9200 last week). More complete sentiment data is available at

This weeks sentiment numbers look like a clear warning signal for the
bulls. The DJIA dropped 194 points last week, but bullish sentiment
*climbed* 6% from already high levels. The reading of 61% bullish sentiment
definitely falls in the extreme category, as does the 5 week moving average
bullish sentiment at 51%. Bearish sentiment stayed even at 21%, which
means it was the neutral camp supplying all the new bulls this week.
