"Back up" your valuable progam files+data and other MS filetypes first, as this
patch too is one of the, in the meantime famous -old valuable files- eter.
-After starting the update patch, NO official close message ("Congratulations")
was ever displayed, every one of the update attempts just stopped, eg
just vanished in thin air.
-After hours long searching, findings were that some files were, but most files weren't
even updated at all, some had an error returning like
'file "Ms65sntx.dat" language is not supported '
and the reason as to why remains so far unknown to me, as the progam previously
functioned as normal as before the applying-attempts.
-Eventualy had to un-install all the MS(+subs)programs, and ofcourse have run
the RegClean straight after that, and did a clean MS65 re-install straight and
'fresh' from the MS65 CdRom, and also straight after run the update patch on
this installation.
Again many hours of work !!! and ofcourse, in the weekend of the EURO-Conversion.
Also, extra more work to get the 'older' custom formulas back in the right numerical
sequence in the Indicator Builder as was within the old installation, as otherwise
any calls by Layouts, Temlates & Charts for these formulas, would have the wrong
formulas being called upon and returned, when opening Layouts, Templates & Charts.
As a results from this update patch, nearly all Layouts, Templates & Charts, that
included links to custom formules(IB's Quick List) have become worthless, eg returning
the fatal "Invalid Action" errors on opening.
I will have to rebuild all of them straight from scratch(inc. the Default) and a bummer.
(This will cost a lots of time to be back as was before!).
This has also happened when upgrading from 60 to 65 earlier this year.
Any LINK, be it internal as external, in the MS6.x programs are of INFURIOR and bad
quality (and are also from the upgrades of the MS progams) and are therefore NEVER
any sure values or NEVER SAFE.
Regularly making GIFs, pictures of the latests designs of any of the Layouts, Templates
& Charts, with backing up the to these designs referencing and refering formulas, is
the least one has to do, basicaly frequent nescesssary.
In my situation, I will have to delete all of the "in time hard work", eg my most valuable
and precious Layouts, Templates & Charts, as I will not ever be able to re-open them again.
Making any back ups, thus did not help in this. Thank you, Equis. Wonderfull.
Also all LINKS to Excel will not ever, actualy NEVER function properly anymore, and
also will have to be rebuild from scratch.
When will we ever get the decent german industrial standard norms(DIN or ISO)
introduced in and used as the steady conditions for computer related progams
to have to comply with?
IMPORTANT
Do not forget to REBOOT the computer again, IF an eventual(!) succesfull install of
this patch has been made succesfully.

MetaStock for Windows 6.5 - Update Patch to 6.52
(Msw652.exe - dated 12/31/98, 3.24Mb)
This patch will upgrade anyone with MetaStock for Windows End-of-Day.
This will work on any 6.5 install or from any previous 6.5 patch.
This patch contains the Euro and Y2K adjustments and will update your version
of The DownLoader to 6.52.
We recommend everyone use this patch.
1. Download the file and double-click on it. The patch will install automatically.
2. Once it is installed you will receive a message telling you the programs were
successfully patched.
3. After the patch has installed, reboot your computer to run MetaStock for Windows.
-This Patch will patch open files.
-If you inadvertently apply this patch while the MetaStock is running the patch will
continue and tell you that you must reboot for the changes to take affect.
-When you reboot, the files that were open will be updated.
Note: If you do not reboot and try to run MetaStock for Windows, it will not run correctly.
