RE: Notebook computer

I bought a Sony pcg-731 about a month ago. I like that it was light (about
5.5 lbs), and it's battery would last about 3 hours. The tradeoffs were that
it has a Pentium 200MMX (instead of Pentium II), and had an HPA screen
instead of TFT (active-matrix). These are why it was relatively cheap and
gets good battery life. After using it a month, the screen bothers me more
than I thought it would,it has streaking/ghosting and is dimmer than TFT.
Also, I'm having trouble keeping my connection with my ISP, though it seems
to work okay with MSN. I think it might have a WinModem, so that might have
something to do with it. I'm waiting for a reply from Sony on that.

I bought mine because my wife wants to travel around in an RV. Since I don't
have a wireless modem, it's not going to do me much good, I think. Are motel
phone lines good enough for web access? (Of course, with the RV we won't be
staying in motels.) Does anyone have a good wireless internet thing, and how
much does it cost?

Thanks,

Mike Lucero
