What did Mr. Takasugi see on the chart that you did not? What does the
weekly chart picture look like? Was last week's low higher than the low
two weeks earlier? Where was the 8/11 low/close in relation to 8/10, 8/09?
Can you see support? Does this make sense?
Do you have a chart of AMD? Note the lows of 7/13 (15.03), 7/29 (15.10),
8/05 (15.09). Now notice that 8/06 opened lower, tested the 8/05 low at
15.12, then exceeded the 8/05 close and high. Would a buy order "n" ticks
above the 8/05 high given you an acceptable trade with low risk?
Do you see the three bottoms being made? After AMD made a triple bottom
and took out the previous day's high, would this not suggest a trend is
trying to establish? An uptrend is higher highs and higher lows. A trend
can be two days, two weeks, two months, etc. What is your time frame?
Would you have known, when you placed the order, that AMD would continue to
go up? No way. Good probability, but no way you would have KNOWN. Place
a stop to preserve capital.
