Re: future of MSWIN

Equis reply is a bit untrue. I wrote them about this over a year ago. I
used Investors FastTrack as an example. They also use something like the
virtual format. The have a large file with all the almost 2000 funds data
in it. Next they have sub folders called families which reference a sub set
of this data. It works very quickly and takes up relatively little hard
disk space. It seems to be a data base setup. When I look at a family or a
portfolio I am looking at a subset of the the database. In Metastock we
have to duplicate or multiplicate the data that we want to use in different
ways.

If Equis used a little more intelligence, they would use the method that all
major companies like reuters, microsoft,  ibm, gm, gillette use to innovate;
that is they would buy or license innovative technology from others. In
this case they could buy a better programming technology from someone who
has it up and running.
