I'll second this.  I run scan disk nightly and disk defragmenter weekly
using Microsoft Plus (System Agent).  They run after midnight after I've
quit using the system for 10 minutes.  Following that, the system backs
everything up via the Internet to Netstore in London.

With Win95, it's real easy to get stuff screwed up, and it sure sounds like
a Win95 problem to me.

Do you think it would help to run "scan disk" and "disk defragmenter"?

Go to Start/Programs/Accessories/system tools. Then shut down and restart.
