Turns out the problem is caused by running out of memory. I have been monitoring my memory very closely now, and I am fairly confident that that is the only cause of the crashing. With 30 days of tick data on active futures like the ES, NQ, and EUR, I can run out of memory just by clicking on these three previously loaded symbols (which causes all of their bars to load in my chart, even if I 

Will I also have memory related crashes when trying to backtest on all this tick data? How should I deal with this problem? Ideally I would want to test about 1 year worth of data at the tick level, and I don't think I can physically install more than the 4GB RAM I already have.
