Title: Re[4]: [amibroker] Sluggish mouse in Formula editor

FYI, an update.

After doing a complete new OS install (was due anyway) the problem was still there. When I saw someone on the net mention problems with wireless mice, I replaced my LogiTech Wireless (USB receiver) laser-mouse with an old-fashioned wired-USB mouse. For a week now I haven't experienced a sluggish or non-responsive mouse/keyboard. It seems this solved the problem and I just love the new responsiveness of my computer!

I can't explain how a sluggish mouse would be able to lock-out the keyboard ... but I am pretty sure that my keyboard also became unresponsive when my mouse did. Perhaps the cpu was busy trying to find the wireless mouse or there was interference with my wireless LAN or other wireless devices in my house. Of course my battery was OK.

best regards,

herman

Hello,

1. Check your graphic card drivers/settings (hardware acceleration on?)

2. Check any 3rd party softwares that can affect normal operation of Windows (accelerators, memory "turbo", antiviruses,

    etc, etc)

3. Make sure that you don't have any keyloggers (viruses)  trojans running in background - these are very likely to cause slowdowns

not mentioning security issues. There are some trojans that make and send screenshots to hackers. That is going to kill performance.

4. Make sure that nothing has replaced standard Windows Rich Edit controls (riched32.dll riched20.dll)

Yes, i have these spurious copy/pastes too, I had that before but only rarely. Now it is frequent - I figured it was due to my sluggish mouse response.

Something has changed. I am just guessing but it could be the un-do buffer or copy-past buffer that is filing up....but why now, i don't think any of those features have changed for a long time. I must be doing something differently. A chart refresh could cause it (I have extensive ticker trees but they are usually not visible, my layout tab is usually open and on top) however why would that occur during editing?

Herman,

I have the same problem, but haven’t been able to pin it down.

My observations:

Doesn’t seem to happen until I have done a lot of copying and pasting.  I can imagine some buffer filling up causing it.

Isn’t related to Indicator maintenance in my case.

When it occurs, it sometimes results in a spurious pasting of some little snippet in the wrong place, which I then have to locate and correct.  This can be frustrating!

Doesn’t occur when outside of AB, as in your case.

The last few days (I never had this before) I often find my mouse unresponsive in the formula editor window. I can click and click until finally (3-4 seconds) my cursor moves and/or I can select text again. It appears that this is due to some AB process using up my computer resources however my task manager shows lots of reserve and i can't figure out what causes it. I am not running any unusual computing intensive processes. My mouse works fine outside of AB.

I am running the IBc with TWS open and my Internet connection is OK. I changed mouse but this makes no difference.

Can this be due to failure to erase formulas when performing Indicator maintenance? I hate to delete formulas... even if they are not to be in actual use.

Would anyone have any idea what can cause this problem?

Thanks,

herman
