First, in my haste I have a typo in the title - should
be EMA * 100. Here is the code used to create the
chart:
Plot ( OscP( 8, 34 ),
"OscP", colorRed );
Plot ( 100 * (( EMA(C, 8 ) - EMA( C, 34 )
) / EMA( C, 34 ) ),
"EMA Ratio *
100", colorYellow, styleDots);

here......Question about PPO
There is something goofy all right. I rewrote the formulas and
put them one indicator and subtracted one from the other and the delta is 0 at
5 places. But when I put them in separate indicators they give different
results. really odd. I will play with some more.
Thanks, Barry

OscP() and the EMA ratio / 100. But if anyone is happy with the EMA
ratio and thinks that the difference between the two averages is hundreds of a
percent than go with it. Or just stick with MACD(). All of this
stuff will get you down the same road (for the most part). > >

are off even when you multiply PPO by 100. There is something going on in OscP
that makes the results different and I haven't a clue what it is. The small
difference may not make any difference. Maybe OscP is not using EMAs. I don't
know. I just know they do not return the same results. Maybe testing both will
determine if either can be used. > > Barry >

want to deal in % and need to multiply the ema(fast) - ema(slow)/ema(slow) by
100. OscP() already does that. If you don't want the result in %
then divide by 100. The key thing is that OscP() does the ema()
calculation. The Users Guide should make that point. >
