It seems something bind to TWS 892 March2009  ( or its *.dll because I got an error messagge). When I switched to another computer

TWS build Oct2008 it was backfilling OK. I suspect  I have had too many open windows in TWS or alike.

After I have copied settings from old TWS to new TWS backfilling is working fine.

What TWS level are you on? I am using TWS 888.3 and IB 1.2.1 and I can back fill 5 days in the simulated account using 1 minute database. It does not seem to matter which app was opened first. Today I opened AB first and I just added a new symbol and I have it set to back fill 5 days and it did. I have seen the problem where it will only fill minimun but that was when I was using a 5 second database. Anyway no problems here.
