Yahoo Japan tries very hard to make it difficult to get historical quotes by displaying data differently from Yahoo elsewhere.
Threfore, most Yahoo Data downloaders which work perfectly with Yahoo everywhere don't work with Yahoo Japan.
There are some Japanese free/sharewares to retrieve quotes from Yahoo Japan.
If you don't mind to ASCII import and are SERIOUSLY interested in buiding a database of Japanese stocks, pm me.
