Dear TJ,
This is a heartfelt plea for you to prioritise fixing two AB bugs that
have been causing me all sorts of problems for months. They are pretty
fundamental bugs to basic operation and hopefully pretty simple to
track down.
I have alerted Marcin to one of them ages ago, and he said he'd passed
it onto you. The second I have only just found a way of replicating it.
1. Interpretation Window - right now, for me, the interpretation
window is rendered almost useless because of a fundamental bug where
it switches output from the active chart & currently selected bar when
it shouldn't. It can easily be replicated simply by having more than
one chart open. I have seen it in all circumstances (i.e. charts
maximised in AB main window, charts paned in AB main window, or one
maximsed one floating). Simply click between various combination of
charts and you will see the interpretation window output briefly shows
the correct active chart & selected value then switches back to the
non-active chart. Obviously if you are displaying critical information
across charts in the interpretation window, this is a non-starter bug.
2. Symbols swtiching in charts when they shouldn't. This one relates
only to a combination of chart's within AB main window and floating
charts. I use both. And I have noticed with some regulartity, that
clicking between my floating charts and back into those in my main AB
window often causes the displayed symbol in the charts in my main AB
window to switch to whatever was being displayed in the floating
window I was last in. I've found this very difficult to replicate -
but this is as close as I've got. Open a chart in AB main window,
display a price chart and symbol (say @NQ#). Open now a floating
window, display a price chart and a different symbol (say @YM#). Now
close the floating window by clicking on the red x in the top right
hand corner... you should see the chart in main AB window switches
from @NQ# to @YM#. While not entirely consistent with the bug I have
seen (because I'm usually not closing floating windows - just
swtiching between floating & non floating) it's my hunch that the two
bugs are closely related, since the net result is the same with
absolute consistency.
Sorry to make a public plea, but the first bug I've been struggling
with these two bugs now for over 5 months.
For reference I'm using AB 5.20.
Many Thanks as always... for what is, otherwise, a superb product!!!
