Thanks Mr. Janeczko,

The volume solution will be nice to have.

Regarding the Traded Value figures, you are right that most data
sources may not be providing it at the moment, however they may be
thinking that not many Charting Software have use for it. So start
will have to be made by somebody somewhere sometime. Incidentally,
exchanges here in India are providing it since many years. It might
also be possible that we have been using volume because we have been
provided with volume only, since many years. Once we have TradedValue
then we might all start using TradedValue in place of Volume at many
places. TradedValue seems to be more efficient option.

There is one more thing that can only be provided by TradedValue. I
will try to explain it by an example : Yesterday here in India in the
National Stock Exchange Scrip SUNPHARMA first trade was @ 1500
(Quantity was 1). After 15 seconds of Market open the rate was 1425,
thereafter it never moved above 1425 for the whole of trading session
(Total Volume for the day was 222418). Exchanges seem to themselves
complain that there are some traders who intentionally create such
trades in the morning when the Market is thin. If we use (H+L+C)/3
then the average will be 1430.45 for the day, however if we use
TradedValue/volume the average will be 1401.69.In the other exchange
(BSE) the same scrip under code 524715 had actual high for the day of
1429.90. So you will appreciate that the first trade of single Qty
messed up the charts in NSE. Things like this happen in 10% of scrips
every day on a bigger or lesser degree. And every chart is expected to
have some bars that are suffering from this problem. So instead of
using (Avg * Volume) for TradedValue, I am actually looking forward to
use TradedValue/volume as TrueAvg for primary basis in my analysis.

I do understand that implementing this concept might require lot of
programming resources and commitment of your time. I will be happy if
you please consider it, and will look forward to have this feature at
sometime in future.

Thanks again for the nice software.

With Regards

Sanjiv Bansal

You can however get pretty close approximation
