Hello,

You can put /3GB flag anywhere in the line. I have it in the middle
(I have four different switches).

I would however recommend ADDING new line instead
of modifying existing one

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Normal" /fastdetect /noexecute=optin
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP 3GB" /fastdetect /3GB /noexecute=optin

It can theoretically happen that system may not boot with 3GB switch
and then you will have trouble re-booting it normally if you replaced the line.
With two lines you will have boot menu displayed where you will be able to choose which
one to use.

Best regards,
Tomasz Janeczko
