Tom,
The port number is immeterial. Will not affect
your accounts .. it is just a channel of communications.
What is critical is to make sure that ibc allows
you to change the port number.... I have not used it for a while so I just do
not remember. TWS does allow you to change ports. 7496 and 7497 would be fine
... just verify that ibc will co-operate.

trade 2 different accounts.
Ara,
How do I know which ports to use. Now I am
using port 7496 for both. What port should I change the paper trading AB and
IB to? I don't what to change my real account because I may lose some money
if I mess around with it.
Thanks,
Tom

Use 2 installations of AB. You need to deferentiate the port address of
TWS
so the two don't get mixed up.
(I beleive ibc allows you to
choose the port number - you need to verify)
