Given that (IMO) the primary value of AB is the ability to customise,
and also provide users with choice, I go with point 2 "write into the
native proprietry AB database".
Pro-active providers, who 'support' AB, and want to take the business
risk, can offer us low maintenance enhanced 'data' products and 'do
it your-selfers' can also access it, from the top level.
I imagine that approach could also allow users to customise the
symbol tree, in the workspace view (folders could be hierarchical
database queries so that we have as many levels as we want, on an
individual user basis, and symbols/instruments/assets can belong to
more than one category).
