The problem is really that the old backup was not
possible to restore. Anyway, it doesn’t matter. I shouldn’t
have complained so much, since it doesn’t help, really. I just want
the program to ask before window closing in the future. I reinstalled it
and now it reads the new backups at least.

The best advice I can give you is backup backup
    backup.

I use an external USB hard drive to back up my
    work several times a
day. Every time I have completed enough work that
    I don't want to have
to do it over, I back up my data.

If I were in your situation, I would back up to
    another computer on my
network and make dvd backups every day.
