Hello,
AB help files as most help files in Windows use CHM (compiled html)
which is displayed in HTMLHelp viewer. This is Window standard.
HTMLHelp is NOT internet explorer per se (although it uses IE technology).
What you are referring to as opening links in IE are EXTERNAL (WEB) links,
not the help file.
Opening not in default browser may be due to the fact that you do not update
your Windows and do not have the following fix installed:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;810649 (Windows 2000)
