I used to get bouncing all the time,
Once I setup a GMail account and redirected all mail to there I have not 
had one bounce.
Just setup your email client to download from GMail as normal pop mail 
and you can
keep your local mailbox clean AND have ALL the mail saved in your gmail 
account for
later reference/searching.

Works great.
