Those who have made Woodie work have their own spin, including the use of other indicators and learning how to live with nebulous "rules" that Woodie's guidelines provide. As the guidelines indicate, the guidelines have some "nuances" that cannot be described and have to be learned on the job. Some use one Woodie pattern (e.g., ZLR) and others all or some of the patterns. Some use the patterns in conjunction with other indicators. Sit in on the Woodie chat sometime and see how many variations are used by traders in the same market at the same time. One often hears Woodie traders say something like one has to find their "style" because the "system" is not black and white. By definition, this is not a mechanical system and any attempt to code this "system" will at best be a snapshot of one of many configurations used by traders. I doubt that any attempt to code from the guidelines will be attractive, as opposed to coding what a successful Woodie trader does.
