Just to add on some comment on your questions.
See...
I'd been trading full-time for more than 3.5 years.
I started with paying for 2 others $1000+ Charting Softwares package
one after another...plus plenty of costly plug-ins (mainly black-
box, which mean I can not see the code)... before I discover
Amibroker.
How I discover Amibroker is also a big joke. :-)
About 4 months back, since I participate some forums with my former
software user group, I find that some one consistently say bad thing
about Amibroker... And that guy is selling plug-ins. My intuition
ask me that why is he got to bad mouth others if the competitor has
no threat, and therefore Googling for Amibroker and find this
product.
I then bought it immediately after evaluation.
In my opionion...
This could be one of the Best Program if the user know how to use
it. After working very hard and I port over some useful routines
from the former softwares, and I am now only use Amibroker.
Among the feature, I like the AddtoComposite and Multiple-Time-Frame
featue the most!!!
I use it to create Sectors and Industries Private indexes. Which
faciliate me to trade Using Top-Down approach. Or else, I have
continue to pay for a on-line investment site just to keep track of
sector/Industry strength, which the yearly subsciption is simply
double the price of Amibroker!
Therefore...
I would want to take this opportunity to thanks the creator of this
software and MANY helpful members in this group. - Thank you.
Having say this... Don't be too happy yet. It need hard work (which
you sounded very positive too)
In the beginning (about 1.5 months almost full time - I had software
engineering backgroud and working experience),I had some very hard
time to digest all the material and understand in how to fully make
use of all the features, such as Changing the time-Frame and
especially the most wanted feature - "AddtoComposite". (Without
using these feature, I would say it is mainly a much faster charting
software only. )
Beside keep reading the manual, surfing the forum, I find that there
is a good recommendation from the Amibroker in some 3rd party plug-
in... "tradingbasis", and give it a try. That actually started to
accelerate my learning curve by having chance to study the lot of
organized and professionally written code.
It is the good for amibroker users that all the AFL today is not
encrypted.:-)
So, Frank Ashok, weclome on board.
Best Regards
Akers
