I want to collect counts of the number of occurrences of certain
candlestick chart patterns.  For example obtain a count of the number
of engulfing patterns found for that day over all stocks in my list:

  Low < ref(low,-1) and High > ref(High,-1)
 
I want to run this over several years to get a count for each trading
day.  I can then add other candle patterns and get a count for them
too.

Can someone suggest a way I can count this pattern and others for each
day? 

I've used the Explore using this formula and manually count them.  But
that is not practical to do that for each and every day, spanning
several years.
