It looks like encryption is OK starting about a week ago.
The only solution might be to remove the groups and then restart them with
encryption.
On a search, it looks like to me that my
address is in the clear and not encrypted; and as a matter of
fact so is yours.
Looks like this warrants more checking.
This was the first hit on a search with your
name and initial.

I don't mind adding to Gmane as long as
e-mail addresses are encrypted for privacy reasons.
At the time when list was added to Gmane
all e-mails addresses were unencrypted (plain readable),
but 3 days ago I asked Gmane administrator to
encrypt all e-mail addresses and he responded:

encryption on and encrypted the articles in the
