thanks Paul, must be because it is using QT plugin
no matter how long you use AB, or how much you know, there is always something else to learn.

I think if you set your data source to local database, then bars to load has no effect. But if you set your data source to other plugin even with local data storage enabled. It will have an impact. I have tried it on my daily data which has a local storage, it does not change the number of bars it loads.

Now the following newsletter shows you how to add bars into a stock. the logic with removing bars is similar.

It was my understanding that if you set (for local database only) your
database settings - bars to load to 260, then AB woud only store 260
bars, or alternatively only load 260 bars into memory
I fell foul of this with my intraday database and lost a lot of data
because I had too few bars in the setting thinking it would store the
data and only load the set number of bars.
