Franc: have you read about AmiBroker's metastock import capability in 
the Users guide? (just search for "Metastock").

 The way I understand it you could import the Metastock data into the 
existing database (local) and then update thereafter with AmiQuote. 
There are detailed instructions on this in the users guide.
