Dan,
Please start to realize that bug reports
are for ME, not for you. It is ME that has to be aware of
it and fix. That's why I set up the RULES, how and where to
post them.
There is huge difference between crash and other
problem(s).
Crash is program exception that happens at certain address
and it is reported
by crash recovery system
Such reports should be sent to special bugs -at-
amibroker.com address because
a) only that way they can be filed into database and get
proper attention
b) only that way all information is processed correctly
(especially the address of exception)
Sending such reports to this list is bad idea
because
a) I may have not notice it at all - there are so many
posts sent to this list so it may be simply overlooked
b) no one except ME can address this anyway, so
this is ME who should receive it.
c) reading and interpreting crash recovery reports requires
knowledge and TOOLS that you don't have
d) reports being sent in incorrect format (as it was the
case this time) - specifically without VITAL
information such as crash
address are useless because they do not allow to locate the place
where crash occurred.
e) this list is NOT for discussion about the beta. (There
is a SEPARATE LIST !)
If people continue not to follow the rules about
betas, I will stop releasing them to the public,
and I will setup special group of only 10-20 skilled people
that will have access to the betas,
as I need to focus on development, not on
discussions.
Best regards,
Tomasz Janeczko

I, for one, appreciate seeing important bug reports
(especially about
crashes). I'd rather have the option of
searching for bug reports myself,
to find out if a problem I am
experiencing is already known, and perhaps
learn how to work around
it. A separate forum would obviously be good for
that
purpose, but in many cases (not crashes), it is difficult for us to tell
whether something is a bug.
You should consider that users who
risk using a beta version are there to help
you out as much as to get
early access to the latest features. We are
volunteers for you,
and you need to nurture volunteers, even if we do silly
things
sometimes.
