I used Metastock for a few years and I can tell you that there is no
comparison between AB and Metastock - AB is vastly superior. Tomasz may not
agree with what follows 100%, but in my opinion, as a total non-programmer,
it is a bit harder to fully understand the formula language. It will help a
lot if you are a programmer; take a look at some of the code for AFL and you
will see what I mean. The compensation is that for those who can master it,
you have a tool that makes Metastock look like a toy. Some people find the
help section to be well laid out, but some others find it hard to use.
Having said that, you will not believe how much time the programmer spends
around here answering questions. The community here is also very helpful.

Even if you are not a programmer, the speed at which Amibroker runs
backtests and the flexibility of AFL, combined with the vast amount of AFL
code available for your use, make AB the easy choice.

Also... last time I used Metastock you were forced to use that crappy
Reuters datafeed. Nothing like that here. And what about Metastocks's
telephone help? I'd rather wait for a response here than talk to those oafs.

Hope that gives you some ammo

Nik
