Welcome to the board.:)
I used Metastock for about 11 years, migrated to Excel for greater
flexibility in back-testing, and made a permanent move to Amibroker
about a year ago. Its unique and primary value to me is its ability
to (easily and quickly) back-test portfolios of stocks using
virtually any set of rules I have the wit to code-up.
Typically, I use an on-line screener to find stocks that meet my
fundamental criteria, then download (also easily, quickly and free)
historical trading data into AB for closer study.
Luck,
Sebastian
