Sorry, I posted the wrong link to the new User Interface video and can't
seem to locate it. I will post it once I find it.

Hi Wayne,

I will respond to the ticker toolbar and allow others to address your other
questions.

You are correct in that once you click anywhere else other than in the
watchlist you will have to click on the next stock you would like to view.
If there is nothing of interest on that new stock then you can arrow down to
the next. But once you have removed focus from the watchlist you have to
click back in the watchlist.

I would hope that TJ could enable the arrow keys to allow us to cycle
through the current watchlist without having to take these extra steps.
Another feature that would go along with this is to start back at the top of
the current watchlist once you have reached the bottom of the current
watchlist.

Maybe we are both missing something here. If so, would someone please
correct us?

You should check out this video of beta version 4.74

Good luck,

Dave

Dave,

Thanks for the input. I'm using Version 4.70.5, by the way.

I'm not sure that I understand how moving the ticker toolbar over to
the left by the Watchlist changes the situation. It may be that I
don't know exactly what you mean by "pin the symbol list open". Are
you associating the ticker toolbar to a Watchlist somehow? If so,
that would be what I am trying to accomplish, but I would like to be
able to move the toolbar to the right (see below).

What it boils down to is I'm trying to save a lot of back and forth
keystrokes and clicks. Perhaps more explanation would help. I like
to work with 20 to 30 stocks at a time, paging down through them as I
mark items of interest. To do that I put the stocks of interest in a
Watchlist and then click on the first one, using the Watchlist. At
that point I can use the "Up" and "Down" arrow keys to page through my
entire list.

Once I click on a chart, however, the current focus moves away from
the Watchlist and I have to go back to it to change to the next stock.
I can't just page down to the next stock. It seems that the "Up" and
"Down" key should work that way regardless of the focus but they don't
(or, if they do, I haven't figured it out yet). My thinking,
therefore, was that I could move the ticker toolbar to the right of
the screen (I'm righthanded) and use it for moving between stocks, but
I would have to be able to associate it with the specific Watchlist of
interest.

There is a related issue here. I haven't found a way to have drawings
(e.g., lines) associate automatically with the current time view. For
example, I work between Daily and Weekly and I usually want the
symbols specific to the active layer. It seems that the drawings
would default to the current layer, but they don't appear to work that
way. I haven't been able to find a setting that would let me specify
that as a default.

I use, therefore, the "Layer" tab on the "Workspace" to associate the
symbols to the correct layer. I know that I can right click on the
drawing object to assign a layer, but that involves more steps. In
any case, all this makes for a lot clicking and switching. As a
result, I'm spending a lot of time going back and forth to the
Workspace and switching back and forth between the "Symbols" tab and
the "Layer" tab.

It's probably the fact that I'm new at this and haven't figured out
the most efficient way of working! In any case, if I could figure out
how to make those two changes I could save a lot of time and effort.

Thanks again for your help.

Wayne
