Thanks for clarifying the drag logic, Steve.
I’d completely missed that the pane should be drug over the appropriate arrow
[or center button] because, for the latter case, I’d just drug it directly onto
the title bar [and off of it via the tab].
Looking good, but I may have further dumb questions later.
Thanks again,
Bob

Bob,
Releasing
a dragged object over the center button creates a tab instead of a
window, so it only appears when you drag something to a window where you can
add a tab. For example, drag the notepad window over a chart and you won't
see the center button because you can't add a tab to a chart. Now drag it
over the symbol tree and you *will* see the center spot because you can
add tabs to the symbols window. Now release the drag over the center spot
and Notepad becomes a tab in the Symbols window. To remove it again, grab
the Noteoad tab and drag it out.

A couple
clarifications.
“stickpin hide buttons” -?
“hide stickpins”
I can get to the directional buttons by
holding down both bottoms for the initial drag, then releasing the right
button—don’t see the center button but no matter.
I got the pane to dock once
doing this, but can’t repeat it.

Steve,
The problem is with the
tabs; they were easy to customize initially, but then things started
deteriorating—e.g.,
-the stickpin hide buttons
disappeared, never to return.
-if I undock the
symbols/layers/layout/charts pane, it won’t redock—looks okay but stays behind
when I drag the main window.
Another thing that doesn’t
match the tutorial—I can’t get to the directional buttons.
Bob.

Hi Bob,
Neither option sounds too great 8 - (
If you just need to rearrange windows, tabs, toolbars, buttons,
etc, maybe we can help you through it - to start, why dont you post a
couple of individual things you want to do and I can try to give you
step-by-step help - I have had pretty good luck with the new interface.

[amibroker] Whidbey
I have AB 4.74.6 beta
installed on two win2k boxes and have managed to trash both re menu positions,
etc.
I have found no way to get
back to a pristine state by
‘redocking’ [nor redacting for that matter].
Should I
1-reinstall with the
attendant necessity of restoring everything?
2-Delete some registry
entries?
I tried switching ‘panes
and tabs’ to other than Whidkey
via “New "Appearance" tab in Tools->Customize, allowing to
select menu/toolbar/docking pane themes and tab location” without joy—nothing happens by toggling
the choices [no apply button] nor after Save and Restart.
