Bob: thanks. I went and looked then changed the Formula Tree path to my
desired folder and got a warning message "Do you really want to change
formula root folder AND MOVE ALL FORMULA FILES FROM: Formula TO......
Have you done this or has anyone else? Does it really move all files to the
new designated folder? If so, that is not what I want to do, so my need
still exists and the suggestion seems still valid.

Bob: what you say is true and that is how I do it now (or with Open), but
with numerous double clicks required). What would be nice is one click on a
new icon. I now am using a Custom Tool to do that and having it open the
file in Wordpad in the folder I want (instantly, no double clicking). But
in changing the file, I do not have the benefit of the Formula Editor window
(color coding, plotting or sending to AA window, etc).
A suggestion I will send to suggestions@xxxxx Is to have a preference
setting to set the folder where the formula editor opens files. Even as I
say this, I sort of remember a long discussion when the formula tree first
appeared and folks discussed drag&drop, etc---I think I remember Tomasz
offering his POV that the Custom folder is not only the best folder for the
formula editor to open to but may be the only folder it opens to. I may
remember that incorrectly.
Slight further detail......I have a main analysis formula that has some 20
user inputs. I have found it quite convenient to do case after case (as
well as create a nice permanent record) but using the INCLUDE command to
call the inputs. This makes for lots of opening, editing, renaming, and
saving data input files which are stored in the INCLUDE folder. Hence, one
button opening of another folder would be a big time saver.

You should be able to get to any folder on the network by just clicking on
the 'Custom' dropdown.

Is there a way to set up a customized button command to open an indicator
afl in the Formula Editor when the formula file is located in another folder
somewhere on the hard drive. Clicking the standard Formula Editor button
gets you the Formula Editor, then clicking "Open" gets you into the "Custom"
folder. I would like open the file located in another folder.
I used the Customize Tools section and created a command which indeed opened
the file I want---but it opened it in WordPad and not in the AB Formula
Editor.
Is there such a way?
