Unfortunately, there is no "perfect" source of data. Each has it's issues. Whether these issues are "problems" for you is the extent to which the issues impact your needs.
For me, important decision parameters include:
- Number of symbols provided
- Availability and type of Sector/Industry categorization
- Availability and type of "other" data available (corporate, fundamental, etc.)
- Availability of an API that Tomasz can write against
- Quality of that API (for example, how fast is it)
- Availability of a plugin for that data source.
Currently, for EOD data, Quotes Plus is the best source available that meets all of those criteria pretty well. Other vendors, including Telechart and eSignal, meet some of the criteria, but not all. For example, Telechart is relatively slow and only exposes two types of extra data (BOP and Money Stream). Similar indicators are available elsewhere. eSignal is pretty expensive.
IMO, QP3 is the best of the lot at anything approaching a reasonable cost.

recommendations for alternative, better sources of EOD data.
Might anyone be aware of a comprehensive comparison of viable
