Or (easier way)... SINGLE CLICK on watch list name in the workspace and it will become editable (exactly as in Windows explorer)

Rajeev,

HI.  Welcome aboard.   From the Menu: “Symbol à Categories… à Watchlists”.  Now select the target watch list and click the “Edit Name” button.

Best regards,

Dan.

Nightstalker,

I don't use Favorites; I use another Watchlist.   When working with a symbol that I want to add to a Watchlist, I click a key combination that adds it to the Watchlist.   It's very fast.

Suggestion:

1)        Rename one of your Watchlists to "Current Holdings". Then,

2)       Go to the "Tools à Preferences à Keyboard".

3)       In the "Category" dropdown, select "Symbol".

4)       In the "Commands" listbox, scroll down the list and select, "WatchlistAddSelectedSymbol".

I can't remember whether this is already mapped to a key combination.   If not:

1)       Place the cursor in the "Press new shortcut key" text box.

2)       Press your selected keys to set the combo.  I use <Ctrl> + <A>.

3)       Click "Assign", then "OK".

Then, after marking up a chart, click <Ctrl> + <A>.  The "Select watch list(s)" window opens with your list of Watchlists.  Select the target Watchlist and click "OK" or hit <Return>.

Tip: When the "Select watch list(s)" window opens, press a keyboard key to quickly jump to the Watchlist.  If "Current Holdings" is the Watchlist name, click <c>.   If you have more than one Watchlist beginning with "c", click <c> several times to get to the correct Watchlist.  (Good naming simplifies things.)    The full sequence is:  <Ctrl> + <A>, then <c>, then <Enter>.

Using this method, I can add a symbol to a Watchlist in about 2 seconds which should be faster than right-clicking and selecting a menu item.

Regards,

Dan.

Hi TJ :)

One thing I find a little tortuous in AB is making a stock into a Favourite.  I use the Favourites list to contain my current holdings, for example, and once sold, I move them to a watchlist called "Recently Sold".

Now, when I buy a stock, I display it in AB, mark up the chart with buy date and price etc, but then I have to click the 'i' icon, check the 'Favourite' box at the bottom, then click OK.

Would it be possible to make it so that right-clicking on the 'Favourites' header in the workspace pane on the left brings up an option to "Add current equity" or similar?  Basically the same way one can add the current stock to a watchlist.  Removing a stock from the Favourites list is very easy - right-click on the stock in the list, then "Remove from Favourites".  It would be very handy to make ADDING a stock to the Favourites list just as easy.... ;)

Thanks for considering this in the next update if possible, along with being able to select a folder for the database and have all subfolders automatically added, as discussed previously.  Keep up the excellent work there, TJ - it is greatly appreciated by all.

BTW - I just referred my 10th customer who purchased AB on my recommendation - but I suppose that's nowhere near a record?  :)

Regards,  NightStalker.
