Hmmm.
It comes back for me.
...but I've always been special.

Subject: [amibroker] focus pocus; running a feature request up the user base
flag pole

I'm not sure this will interest EOD traders that much, but maybe
intraday folks might like it. Then again, maybe not. ^_^

One thing I would really like to have, is the ability of AB to stay
focused on the ticker (the small window you may or may not elect to
have in your tool bar set) when focus is switched from AB to an
outside app, and then back. Right now, if you are focused on the
ticker window, leave AB for another app (say, to Google), when you
get back to AB the focus is no longer where it was.

Yes, I know a simple F4 would put it back there. But it's one more
keystroke, and it's every single time I take the focus off AB.

When I'm focused on the ticker window, I can rapidly input a number
of different symbols, quickly getting a look at each in a particular
layout/screen.

Moreover, I suspect most people shift the focus away from AB numerous
times during a trading session. I know I do, for news, other
research, whatever. But when I put the focus back on AB, it is no
longer in the ticker window without adding that F4 keystroke.

I'm wondering if anyone would favor some kind of setting that might
allow a user to dictate that the focus remain where it was when
shifting the focus away from AB and then back. (This is not
*closing* AB, which would be a whole other thing, just when the app
focus changes.) I don't know how many would like this, or even if it
is technically possible. But I would like either the focus to stay
put, or the ability to set focus to a particular location, when
switching from AB to outside app and back.

The workspace is another alternative, of course, but, the symbols
cannot be arranged in any order of user preference, so one ends up
scrolling; and the workspace takes up horizontal space I don't want
to give up anyway.

But this isn't about the workspace. It's about whether many would
like to be able to set focus on a specific AB location between main
app focus changes, or at least having AB maintain focus where it was
when you left -- and of course the technical possibility or
impossibility of adding that functionality to the program.
