Hi All,

Along these lines, I recently discovered that I can feed all my TA software using CSI-UA for about $20/month prepaid. But I seem to remember discussions here in the past that there was some sort of a problem using CSI. Could any CSI users just let me know if evrything works OK and if you are happy with it? Thanks very much!

Subject: Re: [amibroker] Quotes Plus Data in AmiBroker

I'm happy with Quotes Plus and prior to switching I had been a Telechart user.  I went to QP3 for price/performance reasons(get both mutual funds
and stocks at same price point)  and the market breadth data, something our group uses in signal generation.
Telechart has a bastardized system of representing breadth data , where QP3 will provide the standard high/low, adv/decl
and up/down vol for each market. NYSE, NASDAQ and ASX

I  have to gen it as composites for the Russell, NDX and NYSE operating companies, but not for the main markets, .
Note the GetExtraData gets you only 2 arrays, the other GetExtraData elements are not historical but single bar data.
I use it in my displays for fundamental and technical data, in a manner like IBD does.  For example in one chart display, I'll show the technical
data -  Price, RS,  slope of regression line, standard error of RS,  UPI,  StdDev of Price, then from QP3 EPS Rank, QRS percentile,
Return on Equity, EPS Growth, and EPS projected for 1 year.

QP3 is favored by TJ and the DLL is significantly faster.   There were a few welll written comparisons last year and
you might hit on them if you search Purebytes.com for this topic.

Adjusting the data, well that's a different story for end of year distribution in the mutual fund area. They will adjust and have
handled ticker symbol changes when called to their attention.  In the mutual fund ticker name change they handled it better than one of
their competitors, kept the old name as an alias.

Best regards
JOE

Subject: [amibroker] Quotes Plus Data in AmiBroker

Hi,

I currently use Telechart Data.   The good news is that the data seems pretty clean, it is managed historically and it seems to have a good Sector/Industry hierarchy with Sector and Industry composite symbols.  The bad news is that the Telechart database is supposed to be slower and only two fields are exposed to AB in the Telechart API.

So, I'm considering switching to Quotes Plus.   I'm seeking feedback...

- Generally, how has your experience been?  Happy?  Unhappy?  Would you choose them again?

- Is the EOD data managed historically?  I.e., when a split occurs, is it handled correctly?  Do you have to manage the data yourself?

- Regarding Sector and Industry hierarchies, from the website, it looks like they have sector and industry data.   But...
--- Are all symbols in QP3 mapped to an Industry?
--- Are all Industries mapped to a Sector?
--- Does QP3 provide composite Sector Industry symbols that can be scanned and charted like any other symbol?
--- In AB, can you scan for all symbols for a chosen Sector or Industry?
--- Are there any QP3 Sector/Industry limitations compared to Telechart?

- On the QP website, it says that they provide 200 data elements besides price and volume (EPS, PEG, % Institutional ownership, etc.).  However, on the AB "GETEXTRADATA" function page, it only lists about 25 data elements that can be retrieved.   Does the "GETEXTRADATA" page not reflect the changes in QP3?  Are there QP data elements not exposed in the API?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Best regards,

Dan.
